We all know college isn't what it used to be. We've heard stories from our grandparents and maybe even our great-grandparents in cyber freeze. We've seen the old classics like Animal House, Old School, and The Skulls. But even in 2057 you too can have a college experience filled with the trappings of what the 20th century called essential extra-curricular education.
Other Worlds Austin has obtained the mind-reading devices from the film LISTENING (Texas premiere Aug 27, 9:00PM at Flix Brewhouse). A potential sponsor wanted to Beta test the technology on the OWA staff. Our founder, Bears Fonté, agreed to facilitate by presenting each staff member with stimuli and recording their thoughts.
Austin’s official slogan is “Live music capital of the world.” It’s a well-deserved honor but one Austin might be losing as one classic venue after another closes up shop. Austin’s unofficial motto is “Keep Austin Weird.” This originally was aimed at getting people to patronize independent local businesses instead of national chains. But it’s taken on a life of its own as a kind of mantra for the city.
